PHILADELPHIA (AP) - City officials say a partial collapse at an unused southwest Philadelphia warehouse before dawn sent one man to a hospital with minor injuries.

The city’s Department of Licenses and Inspection said part of the front wall of the warehouse collapsed during high winds at about 5 a.m. Sunday, pulling down power lines and damaging several vehicles.

Officials said a worker at a nearby auto shop was inside one of the vehicles and was treated and released at a local hospital.

Commissioner David Perri said the condition of the building “especially deterioration of the roof system” combined with the weather likely led to the collapse.

The department cleared debris and secured the scene, and officials said the owner will probably begin demolishing the entire building over the coming week.
