TRENTON, N.J. (AP) - Two men are being sought in a shooting that left a teenage boy wounded in New Jersey’s capital city.

Trenton police say the shooting occurred around 3:30 p.m. Saturday.

They say the 15-year-old victim was walking in the area of Chestnut Avenue and Elm Street when the men emerged from a nearby park.

One of the men started shooting at the teen, who then fled the scene on foot. He realized a short time later that he had been shot in his right ankle.

The teen was treated at a hospital and later released. His name has not been released.

Authorities say a motive for the shooting remains under investigation.

No other injuries were reported in the incident.
