PHOENIX (AP) - Police have identified a man killed in a hit-and-run while riding his bicycle in west Phoenix.

Police spokesman James Holmes says 51-year-old Darryl Fitzgerald Summers died Saturday after being taken to a hospital with critical injuries.

Authorities are still searching for the suspect vehicle involved in the collision.

According to investigators, Summers was riding in the area of 27th Avenue and Bethany Home Road around 3:20 a.m. when he was hit by a pickup truck.

Witnesses say the driver fled the area.

The suspect vehicle is described as a black or dark blue GMC Sierra pickup with 20 to 24-inch chrome rims.

Police say there would be damage on the left front side with a left headlight missing.
