RENO, Nev. (AP) - Reno police have arrested a man who allegedly hurled knives at officers.

Sgt. Daniel Bond says the incident began around 4:40 p.m. Saturday when officers were called to a domestic disturbance at an apartment complex.

Two victims told officers that 28-year-old Andrew Vitale had chased them out of the home with a knife and threatened to kill them.

Police say Vitale had also punched one of the victims several times.

Bond says officers made contact with Vitale on a back porch but then he fled back inside, locking the doors.

That is when the suspect allegedly threw several throwing knives at police through an open bedroom window.

Police arrested him about two hours later.

He faces at least one charge of assault with a deadly weapon.
