LAS VEGAS (AP) - A man riding a scooter has died after being hit by a car in east Las Vegas.

Police say the collision happened Sunday shortly after 8 a.m. in the area of Flamingo and Pecos roads.

According to investigators, a vehicle was heading east on Flamingo when the scooter operator pulled out from a property.

Lt. Kendall Bell says the scooter driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

The vehicle fled the scene but was later found.

However, the suspected driver remains at large.

The Clark County coroner’s office will determine the victim’s identity and cause of death.

This is the 31st traffic-related fatality in metropolitan Las Vegas this year.
