LOS ANGELES (AP) - The California Highway Patrol says four people were hurt when the car they were in went off the side of a Los Angeles freeway, crashed into a Target store and burst into flames.

Officer Patrick Kimball says the crash happened early Sunday near an off-ramp of U.S. Route 101 in Northridge.

Kimball says all four occupants of the car were hospitalized. Their conditions weren’t immediately known.

City News Service says the cause of the single-vehicle crash is under investigation.
