WASHINGTON (AP) - A portrait of Gregory Peck will be on display at the National Portrait Gallery to mark the 100th anniversary of the actor’s birth.
Peck’s daughter, Cecilia Peck, will be on hand to introduce the portrait on Monday morning.
Peck was one of the biggest stars of postwar Hollywood and is best known for his Oscar-winning portrayal of Atticus Finch in “To Kill a Mockingbird.”
The portrait gallery is also launching a new exhibit called “Hollywood and Time: Celebrity Covers,” including vintage portraits of stars including Marlon Brando, Paul Newman, Meryl Streep and Elizabeth Taylor.
The oil-on-canvas portrait of Peck by Everett Raymond Kinstler will be on view on the museum’s “Celebrate” wall on the first floor through April 10.
