ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - A “mobile command center” is hitting the road to help New Yorkers get their taxes done.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo says the Department of Financial Services vehicle will make stops around upstate New York from Monday through Saturday. Tax department volunteers will help people prepare and file their taxes for free with user-friendly software.

The service is only for people with federal adjusted gross incomes under $62,000.

Since the tax filing season opened in January, the Tax Department has partnered with libraries and non-profit organizations to provide free assistance to taxpayers at 85 locations.

The mobile command center will be in Jamestown on Monday. It’ll be in Alfred on Tuesday, Oneonta on Wednesday, Watertown on Friday and Plattsburgh on Saturday.

Details about times and locations are online at www.tax.ny.gov/fsa .
