PARMA, Ohio (AP) - An Ohio mother and her child were hospitalized over the weekend after the woman lost control of her car and careened through five yards before crashing into a house.

Cleveland.com reports (https://bit.ly/1UCQnW9 ) the accident occurred just after 1 p.m. on West 130th Street in Parma.

Fire Capt. Matt Garan says the woman drove across the front yards of five homes and crashed through a wooden fence before hitting an embankment that launched the vehicle airborne into the porch of a home.

Paramedics rushed the victims to MetroHealth Medical Center after firefighters extricated them from the vehicle. Their conditions and ages weren’t available.

Members of the Parma fire department’s Collapse and Rescue Team reinforced the home, which suffered significant structural damage.

An investigation is ongoing.
