COVINGTON, La. (AP) - A Covington man has been arrested after police say he stabbed his older brother over a video game.
The Covington Police Department said in a statement that 28-year-old Genard Washington has been taken into custody following the incident Friday night outside of a convenience store.
Police say Washington and his brother, 32-year-old Brandon Washington, were arguing over a video game when Genard Washington stabbed his brother five times.
Brandon Washington was taken to a hospital. He is listed in critical, but stable condition.
Authorities say Genard Washington turned himself in to police the next day. He faces an attempted second-degree murder charge.
It isn’t immediately clear if he has an attorney.
