ROCK HILL, S.C. (AP) - Authorities say that a 17-year-old mother has been killed after being caught in the crossfire of a shooting in York.

York Police Chief Andy Robinson tells local media that E’monnie Dixon was not the intended target when she was fatally shot outside a house early Sunday by an unidentified gunman after a party dispersed.

It is unclear what prompted the shooting. No other injuries were reported.

Dixon’s grandmother Sarah Smith says her granddaughter was the mother of a 2-month-old baby boy and was a student at Rock Hill High School.

Dixon was the second teenager to die by a gun over the weekend. A 17-year-old Rock Hill boy died Saturday night in a Rock Hill shooting that police have ruled accidental.
