PORT ANGELES, Wash. (AP) - Members of Port Angeles’ ethics board have determined that Deputy Mayor Cherie Kidd violated city ethics code by adjourning a City Council meeting in the middle of a public comment period.

The Peninsula Daily News reports (https://bit.ly/1VoVA2y ) the decision on the ethics complaint brought by Marolee Smith came Friday. The board is now deciding whether Kidd should face consequences for her actions at the Feb. 2 meeting.

Kidd had adjourned the meeting during comments by Robert Flood while several people were still waiting in line to speak during the public comment session. Kidd had said Flood’s statements to the council were insulting.

Kidd says she adjourned the meeting because of uncivil behavior, but board members say she could’ve ordered disruptive residents to leave instead of cutting the meeting short.
