PLAINFIELD, Ind. (AP) - Police say three suburban Indianapolis teenagers are suspected of robbing four banks and spending the money on clothes, marijuana and a trip to Florida.
Robbery and theft charges were filed Wednesday against 18-year-old Kyle Rhoades of Avon after a robbery Monday at a Plainfield bank in which nearly $2,000 was taken. A 17-year-old boy allegedly scouted the bank for Rhoades and then went to a car where a 16-year-old girl was waiting with her two younger sisters.
Plainfield Police Detective Jeff Stephens says the teens are suspected in three other robberies in Hendricks County west of Indianapolis dating to early March.
Stephens says a tipster alerted investigators that one of the teens was bragging about the robberies.
Online court records don’t show an attorney who might comment on Rhoades’ behalf.
