ORLEANS, Mass. (AP) - A Cape Cod police officer charged with driving drunk and failing to stop for another officer has been sentenced to probation.

The Cape Cod Times (https://bit.ly/207asDC ) reports that Dennis police Detective Kristian Oberg this week admitted sufficient facts to charges including operating under the influence of alcohol in the Feb. 28 incident in Harwich.

That means Oberg didn’t plead guilty but acknowledges prosecutors have enough evidence to convict. His case was continued without a finding with a year’s probation on some charges.

Police say the 41-year-old Oberg was speeding and didn’t slow down when he was flagged by an officer. They say Oberg eventually stopped but refused field sobriety tests.

Oberg has been suspended without pay since the incident.
