PHILADELPHIA (AP) - A memorial park has been dedicated in Philadelphia for the six people killed in the collapse of a building onto a thrift store almost three years ago.

City officials attended a groundbreaking ceremony Wednesday at the Center City site where the Salvation Army store once stood.

A building being demolished collapsed onto the store in June 2013, killing six people and injuring more than a dozen others. The demolition contractor and a subcontractor were sentenced to prison terms in the collapse.

A memorial in the park is to consist of three granite slabs more than eight feet tall with two windows in each to represent each of the six victims, whose names will be etched into the stone.
