BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (AP) - Authorities say most of the roughly 100 people cited for underage drinking following a police raid on a Connecticut bar were students at a nearby Catholic university.

Bridgeport police Capt. Brian Fitzgerald says the raid at the Golden Star Cafe on Tuesday night resulted in underage drinking infractions for 85 students at Sacred Heart University, in Fairfield.

He says the bar’s owner was cited for several liquor violations and referred to the state liquor commission.

Police say Golden Star Cafe is the same bar where a 39-year-old man charged with sexually assaulting a 19-year-old Sacred Heart student last month met the alleged victim.

The bar’s manager wasn’t immediately available for comment.
