LAS VEGAS (AP) - Sentencing has been pushed back to June 6 for a former Las Vegas-area church pastor facing life in prison for sexually assaulting young girls in his congregation before fleeing to Mexico.
The prosecutor in the case, Robert Langford, said Wednesday the new date in state court is after Otis Holland’s April 25 preliminary hearing date in local court in Henderson in a similar but separate case involving five alleged victims.
The 59-year-old Holland is charged in Henderson with child sexual assault, lewdness, battery and use of a minor in pornography.
He was convicted in January in Clark County District Court of 15 charges of child sexual assault and lewdness, plus conspiracy to destroy evidence and bribing a witness.
Through his attorney, Carmine Colucci, Holland has denied wrongdoing.
Holland was known to his United Faith Church congregation as “Reverend Otis” before he became an international fugitive after his initial arrest in December 2010.
He was featured on the television show “America’s Most Wanted” before he was found in January 2012 in Tijuana, Mexico, and returned in custody to Las Vegas.
