BURLEY, Idaho (AP) - Charges against a 17-year-old boy accusing him of being an accomplice in the murder of his stepmother will be temporarily dropped.

The Times-News reports (https://bit.ly/1qw3E6g ) that Cassia County prosecutors said Wednesday that charges against 17-year-old Ronnie Kincaid III, who has been charged as an adult, have been dropped so as to not delay his father’s trial.

Cassia County Prosecuting Attorney Doug Abenroth says the charges will be re-filed.

Prosecutors say Kincaid helped wash blood from his stepmother’s body after she was fatally wounded by his father at their rural Declo home in September.

The coroner’s report shows an object was used to cause injuries that led to 34-year-old Melissia Kincaid bleeding to death.

The teen’s father, Ronnie Gene Kincaid Jr., has been charged with first-degree murder and is set to go to trial May 23.
