STARKVILLE, Miss. (AP) - Authorities in Starkville say they are searching for a 7-foot-long boa constrictor that went missing from an area home.

The Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal reports (https://bit.ly/1qulk2D ) Starkville police say in a statement that Animal Control officers were notified March 18 that a red tail boa constrictor had gone missing from a residence.

Animal control hasn’t received any information on any sightings of the snake.

They’ve been patrolling the area daily, looking under homes, sheds, wooded areas and other places.

Police advise residents in the area to remain vigilant. Anyone who sees a snake of this description is asked to call Animal Control.
