BULLHEAD CITY, Ariz. (AP) - A woman is facing charges that she left her two young daughters in a car to drink in a Bullhead City bar.

Police said Wednesday that 31-year-old Jessie Anna Colwell was booked on two counts each of endangerment and child abuse per domestic violence.

Police spokeswoman Emily Fromelt says someone reported seeing the children, ages 5 and 1, alone in a vehicle around 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Responding officers say the unlocked car contained the keys in the ignition and it was 91 degrees outside.

The children were not injured.

Officers located Colwell inside the bar.

Fromelt says she had been inside for 30 minutes and smelled of alcohol.

The children are in the custody of the Department of Child Safety.
