MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) - Tyron Carrier has been named wide receivers coach at West Virginia.

Carrier replaces Lonnie Galloway, who took a job as co-offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach at Louisville.

Carrier was an offensive graduate assistant at Baylor in 2015, working with the Bears’ receivers and returners. He was a record-setting returner at Houston when current Mountaineers coach Dana Holgorsen was an assistant for the Cougars in 2008 and 2009.

Carrier had seven career kickoff returns for touchdowns and caught 320 passes for 3,459 yards. He played two seasons in the Canadian Football League for the Montreal Alouettes.

Holgorsen said Wednesday that Carrier brings an excellent understanding of his offensive system and the Big 12 Conference.
