HOOVER, Ala. (AP) - An Alabama high school teacher is no longer being charged in connection with an altercation with a student earlier this year.

Al.com (https://bit.ly/1Xiy8Df ) reports that a harassment charge against 46-year-old Hoover High School physical education teacher Lori Michelle McCombs was dismissed Wednesday.

McCombs was arrested March 3 after police said the teacher grabbed a 14-year-old female student by the wrist and pulled her from the locker room for not dressing fast enough for class. Authorities said the altercation left red marks on the student’s arm.

Judge T.B. Bishop ruled that surveillance video and witness statements don’t indicate that McCombs committed a crime.

McComb’s attorney, Jim Ransom, said his client acted within the scope of her duties as a teacher.

Hoover school officials have not commented on McComb’s arrest.
