CLEARWATER, Fla. (AP) - A van driver has been injured after a crash involving a Clearwater fire engine.
City of Clearwater Public Safety spokesman Rob Shaw says in a statement that the crash happened shortly after 11:30 a.m. Wednesday.
Shaw says a preliminary investigation shows that the driver of the van, identified as 47-year-old Heriberto Pabon of Tampa, failed to stop for the fire truck when the collision occurred.
Pabon was taken to a hospital for treatment of a possible leg injury. He was cited for failure to yield to an emergency vehicle.
The three firefighters on the truck were not injured.
