BEL AIR, Md. (AP) - Maryland State Police say a man was killed when the car he was driving crashed into a school bus during a heavy rainstorm.

Troopers said in a news release that the crash occurred about 11:20 a.m. Thursday on the Route 1 Bypass in Bel Air. Police say 20-year-old Brandon Tolson of Forest Hill was driving a car north when it spun out of control on a curve.

Investigators say the car spun into the path of a school bus driven by 58-year-old Carlito Pascual of Joppa. The two vehicles collided.

Tolson was pronounced dead at the scene. Pascual was taken to a Baltimore hospital.

Troopers say no students were on the bus.
