PHILADELPHIA (AP) - The former head of the Philadelphia Police Department’s Firearms Identification Unit was found dead the day before he was scheduled to face questions about missing guns.

Lt. Vincent Testa’s girlfriend found the 53-year-old unresponsive in his home on Wednesday. Police are not saying how he died, but foul play is not suspected.

Testa was due to answer questions the next day about thefts from the firearms unit several years ago. Testa was removed from his post in the unit.
