BRIGHTON, N.Y. (AP) - A Monroe County grand jury has indicted a 21-year-old western New York man accused of driving his car into a police officer who was trying to stop the man’s vehicle.
The Rochester Democrat and Chronicle reports (https://on.rocne.ws/1XiDtKN ) Tyler Keys is charged with attempted aggravated assault of a police officer, attempted second-degree assault and related offenses.
Police in the Rochester suburb of Brighton say Keys was involved in a domestic incident on March 22 and drove toward police patrol vehicles, causing one to swerve into a curb. As Keys continued driving toward an officer who had gotten out of his vehicle, the officer fired two shots at the car.
No one was shot and no officers were hurt.
Keys is scheduled to be arraigned Friday. It’s unclear if he has an attorney.
