EVERETT, Wash. (AP) - An Everett man who was shot by his roommate is now facing criminal charges.

The Daily Herald reports (https://bit.ly/1VbOMXi ) that detectives believe the 24-year-old shooter was acting in self-defense and are not seeking charges against him.

Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Shari Ireton say the November 2015 shooting at Bunkhouse Condominiums was prompted by an argument over landlord-tenant issues. She says the argument turned into a fist fight between the younger shooter and his 35-year-old roommate, and then weapons were drawn.

Ireton says the older man was holding a knife when he was shot multiple times. He was taken to a Seattle hospital with life-threatening gunshot wounds.

Detectives say the older man has admitted to using methamphetamine and recommend that he be charged with felony assault.
