ST. LOUIS (AP) - Missouri House Speaker Todd Richardson has appointed 12 state representatives to a task force that will investigate problems that led to a shortage of ballots at several St. Louis County precincts on Tuesday.
Rep. Shamed Dogan, a Republican from the St. Louis County town of Ballwin, will lead the task force. Dogan says the investigation will begin immediately and he plans a public hearing soon, though a specific date has not been set.
It’s the latest of several investigations after ballot shortages occurred in 63 precincts on Election Day, raising concerns that some voters were unable to cast a ballot. It wasn’t clear if any races were affected.
The Missouri Secretary of State’s office and the St. Louis County Council are also investigating what went wrong.
