CONCORD, N.H. (AP) - A man who’s served more than 25 years in prison on sexual assault and burglary charges has been granted parole.

Gary Fecteau, who could be released by the fall, was convicted in the late 1980s. Some incidents happened near the University of New Hampshire campus.

WMUR-TV reports (https://bit.ly/22fU6YX) Fecteau told the state Parole Board on Thursday that he’s worked hard to improve himself. He said he has a wife and a strong support network.



Fecteau was convicted in 1989 of stalking and raping or attempting to rape three people in Dover and Durham.

The board said Fecteau has to transition to a work-release status at a halfway house by June a before moving to his own place.
