FARMINGTON, N.M. (AP) - Navajo Nation police have identified the woman killed in a recent hit-and-run.

The Farmington Daily Times reports (https://bit.ly/1SfTFYM ) that police say 28-year-old Darlene Robertson of Tsaile, Arizona, was killed in a crash between Sunday night and Monday morning.

Authorities say a school bus driver spotted Robertson’s body on the side of eastbound U.S. 64 about seven miles east of Shiprock. Police found scattered vehicle debris at the scene.

Navajo police Capt. Ivan Tsosie said by email Wednesday that Navajo investigators and the FBI are working with Robertson’s family to find out who she was with and what she was doing before she died.

Tsosie says Robertson’s body will be sent to Albuquerque for an autopsy.
