GOSHEN, N.Y. (AP) - A New York City man has been sentenced for running an identity theft ring that stole more than $450,000 from customers of a bank with branches in New York and five other states.

Tyrone Lee was sentenced Wednesday to 10 to 20 years behind bars. He was convicted in February in Orange County Court of grand larceny and identity theft.

Prosecutors say the 29-year-old Bronx man’s prison term will be served concurrently to one he’s already serving for operating a similar scheme in Westchester County.

Authorities say Lee was the leader of a bank fraud ring that stole nearly $458,000 from the accounts of 77 customers of Wachovia Bank, now Wells Fargo.

Prosecutors say he recruited his girlfriend to work as a teller at the bank in Newburgh and told her what customer data to steal.
