PAWTUCKET, R.I. (AP) - The home opener for the Pawtucket Red Sox has been postponed due to rain and wet grounds.

The game was scheduled for Thursday night at McCoy Stadium in Pawtucket.

The Triple-A team was scheduled to play the Buffalo Bisons.



The team says the home opener will now be played on Friday at the regularly scheduled start time, 6:15 p.m. A ceremony will be held at 5:45 p.m.

Fans with box seat tickets for Thursday can exchange their tickets for box seats to Friday’s game or any regular season game at McCoy. Fans with complimentary tickets may only use their tickets Friday night.

Thursday’s postponed game will be made up as part of a doubleheader on Saturday, beginning at 12:05 p.m. at McCoy.

The PawSox play Buffalo Friday through Sunday.
