STROUDSBURG, Pa. (AP) - An eastern Pennsylvania man convicted of orchestrating the killing of a man who tried to steal drugs from him in 2005 must spend life in prison.

The Pocono Record (https://bit.ly/1XhJUxV ) reports 40-year-old Anthony Caiby (KAY’-bee) continued to insist he’s innocent after being sentenced Wednesday in the death of 42-year-old David McEntire.

Monroe County prosecutors say McEntire was accused of stealing drugs and money from Caiby before he arrived at the home of 51-year-old Edwin Kelly in October 2005.

That’s where authorities say Caiby ordered Kelly and 33-year-old Lisa Stavish - a drug user staying at Kelly’s residence - to kill McEntire.

McEntire was beaten with a claw hammer, shot several times, then injected with a mixture of bleach and cocaine.

Kelly and Stavish are each serving 20 years in prison for third-degree murder.
