ATLANTA (AP) - Police say that a man who was found dead after a suspicious Atlanta house fire had been arrested days before and accused of attacking a woman who he thought was having an affair with his wife.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution (https://on-ajc.com/1TDaWkh ) reports Dr. Marcus Moseley was charged with battery Thursday after police say he attacked a woman who was sitting close to his wife in his home.

A police report says the doctor’s wife told investigators the woman was a friend who had come to comfort her on a day she was to have surgery.

Authorities haven’t said whether the domestic dispute is related to the discovery of the Moseley’s body in his backyard pool following the Saturday fire. Investigators say they found unexplained flammable liquid or gas at the site.
