CORNWALL-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. (AP) - State police have charged a 20-year-old man with stabbing another man during a fight on a Hudson Valley street.

Troopers say Thursday that Jonathan Rizzo of Cornwall in Orange County was charged with first-degree assault.

Police say Rizzo got into a fight with an acquaintance early Wednesday morning on Idlewild Avenue in the village of Cornwall-on-Hudson. Troopers say Rizzo repeatedly stabbed the man in the head and torso.

The victim was able to walk to the nearby home of another friend and a call was made to 911.

Troopers say the victim was treated for non-life-threatening at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cornwall.

Rizzo is being held in the county jail on $50,000 bail. It couldn’t be determined if he has a lawyer who could comment on the charge.
