TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - The state Board of Regents approved tuition and fee rates Thursday for the 2016-17 academic year at Arizona State University, the University of Arizona and Northern Arizona University.
Out-of-state students will pay the biggest increases.
At ASU, tuition and fees are going up by more than $1,000 for out-of-state undergraduate students who will pay $26,470 next year while out-of-state grad students also have a 4 percent hike at $28,862.
That compares with $10,640 for in-state undergrads at ASU after a 1.5 percent increase and $11,756 for resident graduate students following a 1.3 percent hike.
New out-of-state undergrads at the UofA face a 7.2 percent increase in tuition and fees and will pay $34,967, with the price locked in for four years. Incoming in-state undergrads will pay $11,769 per year, a 3.2 percent hike.
Tuition and fees for UofA resident graduate students are up 2.8 percent to $12,383, with out-of-state grad students paying 5.8 percent more next year at $32,135.
At NAU, new in-state undergraduate students will see a 3.9 percent increase in tuition and fees to $10,764, with rates locked in for four years.
It’s $24,144 for new out-of-state undergrads and $21,976 for out-of-state graduate students - both up 3.4 percent - while resident NAU grad students will pay 4 percent more at $9,989 next year.
