SHREVEPORT, La. (AP) - The trial of former Bossier Parish Sheriff Larry Deen has been rescheduled for August.

The Times (https://bit.ly/1UIQcIY ) reports Deen’s case was originally set for Monday but was postponed to 9 a.m. Aug. 15 during a telephone conference last month.

Court documents indicate the court has reserved eight days for the jury trial.

A federal grand jury indicted Deen and two owners of Blakey Auto Plex LLC, Clifton D. Blakey and Clinton E. Blakey, in 2014 on charges of conspiracy to commit federal program theft and federal program theft. The indictments accuse the men of an alleged scheme to undervalue an SUV the former sheriff drove in his official capacity, convert it to private ownership and conceal the transaction.

Each has pleaded not guilty.
