BOULDER, Colo. (AP) - Vice President Joe Biden says men should not be afraid to socially ostracize those who abuse women.

The Daily Camera (https://bit.ly/20nXsJT ) reports Biden made the remark during an hour-long speech Friday at the University of Colorado, which is one of more than 100 schools being investigated by the U.S. Department of Education for its handling of sexual assault complaints.

Biden pleaded for students to help change the culture on campus. The address was part of his “It’s On Us” campaign to raise awareness about sexual assault on college campuses. Biden has been heavily promoting the initiative that urges people to support sexual assault victims and intervene when consent is questionable.

He told women to listen if a friend says she was raped, as it’s damaging to survivors to feel like nobody believes them.
