HAMILTON, Ohio (AP) - Closing arguments have begun in a southwest Ohio woman’s trial on vehicular homicide charges from a 2015 car crash that injured several utility workers, one fatally.

The charges against 24-year-old Michele Schuster (SHOO’-stur) in Butler County include operating a vehicle under the influence.

Police say her car swerved across a center line on April 22, hitting Duke Energy subcontractor workers. Twenty-four-old Amber Rooks of Norwood died May 2; four others were hurt.

Authorities say Schuster had taken an anti-anxiety drug and had a hallucinogenic in her system.

She testified at trial that she didn’t take any drugs that day and suggested her orange juice was spiked by a man with whom she had a relationship. The man denied that and said he met her as a strip club dancer.
