HILLSBORO, Ore. (AP) - Authorities say a Washington County man was hospitalized after being shot by at least one sheriff’s deputy.

Deputies were called to a Cornelius home late Thursday by a neighbor who said a man was breaking windows and damaging property.

Sheriff’s Sgt. Bob Ray says the suspect was uncooperative, and the situation escalated to the point where at least one deputy fired a shot.

The wounded man - 54-year-old Greg Moore of Cornelius- refused to leave the home for about 90 minutes before agreeing to surrender and receive medical care.

Ray says Moore was taken to a hospital by ambulance, and he’s expected to fully recover.

Authorities have yet to say if he was armed.

Cornelius is a few miles west of Hillsboro.
