DECATUR, Ga. (AP) - Prosecutors say a retired Chamblee police officer who was found guilty of child molestation is being treated for poison consumption.
DeKalb County Assistant District Attorney Megan L. Matteucci said on Friday that 58-year-old Kelless Twohearts Lory of Stone Mountain has been treated at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta. Lory was convicted Thursday and will be sentenced at a later date and faces two life sentences plus 40 years.
Prosecutors said Lory molested a female family member between July 2011 and July 2012. The girl was 9 years old when the abuse began.
Lory was arrested in December 2014.
Lory was already retired when the abuse happened. He had retired from the Chamblee Police Department and previously worked for MARTA Police.
