WASHINGTON, Iowa (AP) - A man serving time at an eastern Iowa jail has died.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office says staff members at the county jail found 34-year-old Everette Christner unresponsive in his cell Thursday night. They conducted CPR until emergency responders arrived.

Christner, of North English, was pronounced dead by the county medical examiner. An autopsy has been scheduled for Monday.
