MADRID (AP) - Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane is resting players for Saturday’s Spanish league match against Eibar, with the goal of overturning his team’s stunning loss at Wolfsburg in the Champions League.

Despite having cut Barcelona’s league lead with a win at Camp Nou in the last round, Madrid will host Eibar on Saturday without Karim Benzema, Luka Modric and goalkeeper Keylor Navas. Defender Sergio Ramos serves a one-game suspension.

Zidane says that while wanting to beat Eibar, his team will be “playing for our season on Tuesday” when Wolfsburg comes to the Santiago Bernabeu.

Madrid lost 2-0 to the German team in the first leg of the Champions League quarterfinals.

Madrid is third in the Spanish league, seven points behind Barcelona.
