ATMORE, Ala. (AP) - Authorities say an inmate serving life without parole in the murder of his father and stepmother has been found dead in an Escambia County prison.
Alabama Department of Corrections spokesman Bob Horton said in a news release that 45-year-old William Randall Triplett was discovered Thursday hanging from a bedsheet in his one-person cell at Holman Correctional Facility.
Triplett was convicted of capital murder in 2003 in the slayings of his father, Billy Triplett, and stepmother, Debbie Triplett, during a 2001 robbery at the couple’s Clay County home.
The inmate’s death remains under investigation.
