ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - Authorities say an Oklahoma man has been arrested in New Mexico in a drug trafficking case.
New Mexico State Police say 46-year-old Billy Wayne Wilson of Muskogee is being held on suspicion of trafficking controlled substances.
He remained jailed Friday at the Metro Detention Center in Albuquerque. It’s unclear if he has a lawyer yet.
State Police say an officer stopped a sedan for speeding on Interstate 40 just west of Albuquerque on Wednesday.
They say Wilson acted suspiciously and the officer got a search warrant for the vehicle.
Police say the search turned up 13.8 pounds of methamphetamine hidden inside a speaker box in the trunk of the sedan.
