SITKA, Alaska (AP) - A search is on for a Sitka man missing on a kayak trip.

Alaska State Troopers say a search will continue Friday for 40-year-old Jesse Mills.

Mills left his home on a kayak trip late Wednesday and troopers took a call Thursday that he had not returned by 5 a.m.

The Sitka Fire Department Search and Rescue and Dive Team, the Coast Guard and volunteers searched Sitka Sound and shorelines throughout Thursday.

Mills was paddling a lime green and white kayak.
