MADISON, Wis. (AP) - University of Wisconsin System leaders plan to form a task force to evaluate minority students’ experiences.

Board of Regents President Regina Millner announced the task force’s creation Friday. She says the several regents, chancellors, student affairs professionals and students will be appointed to the panel. The group will provide a final report with recommendations for improvements to the full Board of Regents later this year.

Minority students have been pressuring Millner and system President Ray Cross and to address diversity issues since University of Missouri System President Tim Wolfe and Columbia campus Chancellor R. Bowen Loftin resigned in November. Black student groups had been calling for change over the administration’s handling of racial issues.

Creation of the task force was among their demands.
