OCALA, Fla. (AP) - Authorities say one person died and another person suffered minor injuries when a small plane crashed at a north Florida airport.

The crash happened Saturday morning at city-owned Ocala International Airport.

Ocala Fire Rescue spokeswoman Ashley Lopez tells WFTV-TV (https://at.wftv.com/1VffSNe ) that the plane had departed the airport but encountered some trouble and turned around to land.

Authorities have not released the names of either person in the plane. Lopez says the injured person was taken to a hospital.

The crash investigation closed an adjacent runway at the airport.

Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Rick Breitenfeldt said in an email that the propeller-driven aircraft was a Mooney M20. The National Transportation Safety Board will determine the cause of the crash.
