FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) - Republicans in Kentucky’s 6th congressional district have elected a congressman, a state senator and a state party official as delegates to the Republican National Convention.
Delegates at the 6th District Republican convention chose U.S. Rep. Andy Barr, state Sen. Ralph Alvarado and Republican Party of Kentucky Treasurer Cathy Bell as delegates.
Kentucky delegates’ support on the first ballot at the convention will be based on results from last month’s presidential caucus. If no presidential candidate has enough delegates to secure the nomination, Kentucky’s delegates would be free to support anyone.
If that happens, Barr, Alvarado and Bell said they have not decided who they would support.
Kentucky has 46 delegates to the Republican convention.
