PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) - A basketball coach has pleaded not guilty to charges including rape.

The Oregonian reports (https://bit.ly/25RiTHp) 42-year-old Stevens Hyppolite is facing three counts of second-degree sexual abuse by a coach, among other charges.

He entered his not guilty plea Friday.

Hyppolite is suspected of abusing a teen girl. Police believe he met the teenager while she was playing on a club basketball team that he coached.

Authorities searched his home March 31.

Hillsboro police Lt. Mike Rouches said authorities think Hyppolite coached the Lady Warriors.

A Hillsboro School District spokeswoman says Hyppolite coached the Liberty High School basketball team.

He was also listed as a coach for the girls’ basketball team at Oregon City High School during the 2013-2014 season.
